Let's talk tribute versus copy. Class is a must when using vintage pieces as your inspiration for new products. it is one thing to use the base of a vintage model as a platform for new innovation and design. It is quite another to directly copy a model. Effector Eyewear with partner in crime Nigo have decided to rip off the beloved Ultra Goliath 2 and claim it as their own. In funny thing about this is that a guy who is bold enough to put an "R" making his name a registered trademark is bitting trademarks of other companies. We are all for tributes to Vintage Eyewear, but direct copies are pretty fucking whack. I guess this means that ape shall never kill ape… BUT ape has no problem ripping off ape! Fail.
